After a degree in theoretical physics from la Sapienza in Rome, Duccio moved to London for a PhD at Imperial College, to continue his research on large disordered systems. He has always been fascinated by the use of computer simulations and data to build mathematical models and did this in several different areas such us finance, biology and urban systems. His activities brought him first in Paris and made him finally land in Milan, where he now runs the data group of Italy’s first commercial Vertical Farm. At Agricola Moderna they are turning their Vertical Farm into a data engine, and they are developing algorithms to investigate their agronomical processes.
